Moments over 30 years

These info-graphics by Shanika Perera, based on input provided by Asanga Welikala, enumerate of some of the more important interventions on constitutional reform since July 1983. In general, they have been included because of their political and historical significance; because they engaged the major protagonists in the conflict; and/or because of their innovative novelty as ideas.

Many of them are sincere if failed attempts at constitutionally resolving the conflict; some of them are incredibly myopic responses to the conflict. The last three entries may not enter a future list, but they are included here because they all occurred in 2013, the thirtieth anniversary year of the July 1983 pogrom.

Download and read Asanga Welikala’s research paper from here.
